Artemis Macaulay Cup Finalists decided

The finalists of the 2012 Artemis Macaulay Cup were decided this weekend following the Semi-Finals in Oban and Inverness.

At Mossfield Park, Oban, Oban Camanachd faced Inveraray, a side who had experienced an emphatic AJG Parcels Celtic Society Cup 14-0 victory the previous week.  However this match was to turn out very different for Inveraray.  Andrew MacCuish put Oban Camanachd ahead in the 8th minute before Russell MacKinlay of Inveraray leveled it 20 minutes later.  MacCuish scored a second shortly after and it finished 2-1 to Oban Camanachd at half-time.

Following the break Oban Camanachd furthered their lead in the 72nd minute with an Aiden MacIntyre strike.  Their lead was short lived as Garry MacPherson and Ruairidh Graham scored in quick succession leaving it 3-3 with minutes left on the clock and both sides looked to a further 30 minutes extra time.  However in the last minute of play Iain MacMillan scored a winning goal for Oban Camanachd and secured their place in the Final.

In Inverness, Glenurquhart took on Fort William at Bught Park.  In wet conditions neither side was able to break the deadlock in the first half, but five minutes into the second half David Smart put Glenurquhart ahead.  They doubled their lead twenty minutes later through a long range wonder shot from Ruairidh Cameron.  James MacPherson completed the scoring for the afternoon in the 85th minute, sealing the 3-0 victory for Glenurquhart.
