Inveraray U14 Win Scottish Hydro Development Cup

Inveraray U14 won the Scottish Hydro Development Cup following a 6-0 win over Uist Camanachd U14 in Oban on Saturday 15 September 2012.

The match took place ahead of the Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup Final between Inveraray and Kyles Athletic which gave the youngsters the chance to showcase their talents on shinty’s big day.

After coming out on top of their Local League, Inveraray beat Aberdour 6-0 in the semi-finals. Fraser Watt grabbed a hat-trick and Ross Anderson, Campbell Watt and Robert Wood got the others.

Following their Local League success, Uist Camanachd overcame Ballachulish 3-0 in the last four tie thanks to a Calum Ferguson brace and a goal from Joseph MacInnes.

Despite a spirited Uist performance in their first national final, Inveraray ran out 6-0 winners to lift the cup. They scored three goals in each half in what was an entertaining match. Ross Anderson was their hat-trick hero with Fraser Watt and Campbell Watt bagging doubles.
