REMINDER: Newtonmore Veterans Sixes Tournament

Newtonmore Camanchd Club are resurrecting their annual Veteran’s 6 aside event this year to coincide with The Orion Group Premiership Derby Weekend; Sunday 26th August.
In order to tie in with the Derby Weekend, the Club are offering all participants free entry to their 1st team home tie against Kingussie on Saturday 25th August and also free admission to the Veteran’s 6′s dance which is taking place in the Newtonmore village hall that same evening (Saturday 25th). Also, the Balavil Hotel are offering knock down prices on rooms for that whole weekend if you are taking part in the event.
In a change to the rules originally published, to qualify to play, participants must only be over 45 years old, so they can still be eligible to play even if they still participate in competitive shinty. Each team will have 6 players and an allowance of 2 substitutes who will be used in a “rolling” format.
Entries will be accepted from any clubs (as many teams as you like) and also any teams who may want to enter without entering under a particular club umbrella.
The cost of entry is £80 per team which includes, as mentioned, admission to Orion Group Premiership Derby Day match Newtonmore V Kingussie on Saturday 25th and entry to the Dance that evening, as well as entry in to the tournament.
The tournament day itself will have a BBQ, beer tent and some fun, shinty skills type competitions, as well as a little surprise exhibition match in the middle of the day.
