Lochaber Camanachd hosted the annual Donnie MacLean Memorial Sixes on Sunday 23rd September with a total of 16 teams taking part; 9 from the North and 7 from the South.
The teams were split into two leagues for a round robin tournament with the top two from each league qualifying for the semi finals. After a great display of shinty the four to go through to the next stage were Newtonmore and Fort William from one league and Kingussie and Glenurquhart from the other.
The first of the semi finals saw Newtonmore defeat Kingussie by one goal to nil. In the other semi final Glenurquhart came out on top beating Fort William 2-1.
The final was a tight affair with Newtonmore winning after extra time.
Lochaber would like to thank all those who attended and look forward to seeing everyone again at next year’s event.
