The Senior Development Competition starts this Saturday, 21st May at Braeview Park, Beauly.
Five teams have entered the North competition including new side, Strathspey Camanachd, along with Kinlochbervie, Lewis, Navar and Uist.
This Development level competition is aimed at newly established clubs who feel that the commitment required to take part in a full league programme could be too high for them at an early stage of development. In future it may also be of benefit to larger clubs who have an abundance of players and cannot provide regular playing opportunities for them all.
In speaking of the new competition National Development Officer, “This new competition is an excellent opportunity for these teams to participate in the sport throughout the season as well as providing them with a pathway to senior shinty in the future.
