Shinty Against Sectarianism!
Friday, June 8th, 2012 at 2:16PM
S1 to S3 Kinlochleven shinty playing pupils this week came to school wearing the strip of the rival of the football team they support, so therefore Celtic fans wore Rangers strips and vice versa!
This was done for two reasons, firstly to highlight the school is against sectarianism and secondly as a sponsorship opportunity with the money being raised by the pupils going towards paying costs of their shinty trip to Belfast later this month.
During the trip the pupils will be playing in part of a triangular tournament with Plockton and the Belfast Cuchulainns. The Belfast Cuchulainns is a team set up across the religious divide involving four schools in Belfast two Protestant and two Catholic, including St Patricks and Boys Model.
