Reminder – Level 1 Coaching Certificate in Shinty: Lochaber

The closing date for the upcoming UKCC level 1 Coaching Certificate in Shinty course in Fort William is Friday 2nd November. We would urge clubs/schools to ensure all appropriate coaches are aware of this important opportunity.
The Camanachd Association is pleased to advertise the next UKCC Level 1 Coaching Certificate Courses in Shinty. This is a major opportunity for clubs/schools to encourage their coaches to improve their ability to provide quality coaching for the players.
The Level 1 course is United Kingdom Coaching Certificate (UKCC) accredited and has been developed in relation to the United Kingdom Coaching Framework and the principles of Coaching Scotland. UKCC courses are nationally recognised throughout UK sport as a kite-mark of excellence. For more information on the UKCC please visit www.sportscoachuk.org
The course will be run on:
Saturday/Sunday 10th and 11th November 2012 at Lochaber High School, Fort William.
The course will consist of:
1) Two day Practical/Theory sessions
Day 1: 10.00am – 6.30pm Day 2: 10.00am – 5.30pm
2) A follow-up Coaching Session assessment at the candidates Club/School. (Date agreed with candidate)
Applications must be returned by Friday 2nd November 2012 so that resources and tutors can be confirmed
Places will be limited so people are asked to apply as soon as possible.
The course fee is £100 but 50% funding support is available from sportscotland on www.sportscotland.org.uk within Coaching – UKCC funding. This funding must be applied for by Friday 20th October 2012.
Additional funding will allow candidates who complete the course to re claim the remaining £50 therefore the course can be free.
