Competitions Overview

The following details provide a brief overview of all cups and competitions. Most are run by the Camanachd Association unless indicated otherwise.

The Camanachd Cup

The sponsor of the Camanachd Cup is Scottish Hydro.

The rules relating to the Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup are set out in Byelaw 2 of the Camanachd Association.

The competition shall be open to teams in the Premier League and those playing in North Division One and South Division One, with the exception of reserve teams playing in North Division One or South Division One.

The teams from North and South Division One shall compete against each other in preliminary rounds and the first round of the competition to give a total of 6 teams from these divisions going forward to the Second Round. Premier League Teams will enter the draw at the second round.

The Competition shall be conducted on the basis of an open draw throughout.

The MacTavish Cup

The sponsor of the MacTavish Cup is The Co-operative.

The competition shall be open to the North clubs competing in the Premier League and North Division One, with the exception of reserve teams playing in North Division One.

The competition shall be conducted on the basis of an open draw throughout, with draws for all the rounds up to the final being made prior to the start of the season

The Glasgow Celtic Society Cup

The sponsor of the Glasgow Celtic Society Cup is AJG Parcels.

The competition shall be open to all South clubs playing in the Premier and South Division One League, with the exception of reserve teams playing in South Division One.

The Macaulay Cup

The sponsor of the Macaulay Cup is Artemis.

The cup shall be competed for between the top 8 first teams in the North and South areas based on final league places in the Premier and Division 1 leagues in the preceding season. Teams shall compete on a North and South area basis up to and including the semi-finals. The final, to be played in Oban, shall be contested between the winners of the North and South semi-finals. Other competition details shall be as agreed from time to time by the Board of Directors and the MacAulay Association.

The Balliemore Cup

The competition shall be open to a club’s first team that competes in North or South Division 1. It shall be conducted on the basis of an open draw throughout, with draws for all the rounds up to the final being made prior to the start of the season.

The Sir William Sutherland Cup

The sponsor of the Sir William Sutherland Cup is Aberdein Considine.

The competition shall be open to all teams playing in North Divisions Two and Three and those playing in South Division Two and any reserve teams playing in North Division One or South Division One.

The Bullough Cup

The competition shall be open to all reserve/reserve standard teams playing in South Division 2 and any reserve team playing in South Division One.

The Strathdearn Cup

The competition shall be open to all reserve/reserve standard teams playing in North Division 2 and any reserve team playing in North Division One.

The MacTavish Plate

The competition shall be open to clubs knocked out of the MacTavish Cup first round.

The South of Scotland Senior Plate

The competition shall be open to clubs knocked out of the Glasgow Celtic Society Cup first round.

The Bullough Plate

The competition shall be open to clubs knocked out of the Bullough Cup first round.

The Strathdearn Plate

The competition shall be open to clubs knocked out of the StrathdearnĀ  Cup first round.
