Former Lovat player Addie Mackenzie passed away peacefully on Friday 24th May.
Addie age 95 was born and brought up at Allarburn, Kiltarlity and was the last surviving wartime Lovat Scout.
Addie was a member of the highly successful Lovat team which lifted the Camanachd Cup in 1953. Unfortunately, Addie wasn’t able to be in Oban when Lovat next lifted the Camanachd Cup in 2015, however his daughter Kate brought him out to Kiltarlity shortly afterwards to meet some players and committee members and to hold the trophy yet again.
The funeral service is on Monday 3rd June at 12.00 in the Funeral Home of William T. Fraser & Son, Culduthel Road, Inverness, thereafter going home to rest in Tomnacross Cemetery.
Refreshments to follow in the New Lovat Shinty Pavilion, all welcome.
