On behalf of Badenoch Shinty Memories Group (BSMG), I am pleased to invite you to a special occasion to be held in Talla Nan Ros, King Street, Kingussie on Thursday evening, May 2.
This is an open event to which everyone is welcome. If there is anyone you may feel who would like to know more about our group‘s activities over the next few months, please circulate this invite and encourage them to come along.
Over the last few months, BMSG has made great progress in terms of its own organisation and formal constitution, helping create a supportive environment for people in the area who are living with challenging issues such as dementia, and in other similar situations.
I am pleased to report that the group is now in a position to take major steps forward through financial support being received from a charitable agency which will be confirmed on the evening. We will also be announcing a major boost to our provision of shinty memory boxes for Memory Groups through Shinty Memories Scotland by way of a separate and significant sponsorship deal.
These major initiatives, along with our programme of work and events, will enable us to develop what we are doing in this area on our own behalf and also through collaborative projects involving the Highland Folk Museum, other groups, local sports teams and groups (such as curling, golf and tennis) and schools from Kincraig through to Dalwhinnie and Laggan.
The venue is the Talla Nan Ros, King Street, Kingussie and the event will start at 1930. There will be a number of speakers explaining what we propose to do over the next 18 months and the shinty clubs which currently have Shinty Memory Groups are being invited to come and collect their initial resource boxes.
I would be obliged if you would confirm your attendance as soon as possible, and certainly by Friday, April 26 to firstname.lastname@example.org
Thanking you in anticipation.
John Mackenzie MBE
