GMA offer open coaching sessions for shinty players in Glasgow

Glasgow Mid Argyll continue their open training policy, allowing shinty players from other clubs who are unable to make their own sessions to train with them. 

The Camanachd Association encourages all clubs to work together to ensure that our most ancient sport is able to thrive.

Coaching Structure for 2020 Season

Glasgow Mid Argyll Shinty Club are delighted to announce our coaching team for the 2020 shinty season.

Mark Bain and Neil Mclay will again take charge of the 1st team for their Premiership campaign.

They will be supported by Rory Fraser who will provide individual player analysis and coaching advice. Physio duties will be undertaken by Brian Slattery providing fitness coaching and advice on injury rehab.

Our preseason preparations will include the following friendly matches:

Saturday 15th February Oban Camanachd (away)

Saturday 22nd February Inverary (home)

Saturday 29th February Kinlochshiel (away)

Angus MacInnes and Nick Lavin will manage the 2nd team who will again be competing in South Division 1.

The women’s section will be coached by David Docherty with support from Ross Brown.

The club are keen to strengthen and widen the playing squads for all teams and would be delighted to hear from any players (or volunteers) who would like to join Glasgow Mid Argyll

Our pre season training will commence on Monday 6th January at Hillhead Sports Club, 32 Hughenden Road, Glasgow G12 9XP commencing at 7pm. 

In keeping with our open training policy and commitment to the development of the sport in Glasgow, any shinty players from other clubs living or working in the greater Glasgow area will be made most welcome to join our training sessions.
