Lochside Rovers Complete Cup Double

Glasgow Mid Argyll 1 Lochside Rovers 4

Lochside Rovers made it a cup double when they defeated the Glasgow Mid Argyll second team 4-1 in the Bullough Cup Final at Strachurmore on Saturday 3 August 2019.

GMA started well and Lochside keeper Dougie MacDonald had to be on his toes to make a good double save to deny John McNulty and then Seb MacMillan.

It was Lochside who broke the deadlock on the half-hour when Lewis Buchanan sent a shot from distance high into the net.

Lochside doubled their lead on 47 minutes when substitute Michael MacQueen finished low into the net past keeper Jonathan Oates from outside the D.

Michael MacQueen then turned provider on 63 minutes when his corner found Craig MacDougall at the back post and he finished low into the goal.

Lewis Buchanan got his second on 73 minutes to make it 4-0 after good lead up play from Blair MacFarlane.

GMA finished strongly and Jack Berg and Seb MacMillan combined to set up Nick Lavin who drove the ball into the top corner of the net on his back-hand to make the final score 4-1.

Lochside captain Jordan Kerr stepped forward to be presented with the Bullough Cup, added to the HIS Sutherland Cup won earlier in the season, by Jock Turner Chieftain of the Camanachd Association.
