This weekend as part of the popular Meadows Festival in Edinburgh, there will be a full two days worth of Shinty action for you to get involved with in the Capital.
On Saturday the 1st June, the schedule looks like this;
- 10.30am - 11.30am
Primary Ages Training and Fun Shinty Match (Pitch 1)
Aimed at younger to mid Primary ages. Supervised newcomers welcome.
- 12pm - 1pm
Family-friendly Community Shinty (Pitch 1)
Family friendly event. Youth and adult players including beginners welcome, with a focus on fun and participation.
- 1pm-2pm
Women’s Shinty Showcase: Tayforth vs Aberdour, Local Derby Friendly Match (Pitch 1)
A great 60 minute showcase for the women's game.
- 2.30pm - 4.15pm
Men’s Shinty Showcase - Tayforth vs Aberdour, Mowi South Div 1 League Fixture (Pitch 1)
A fantastic opportunity to see 90 minutes of live shinty action on the Meadows between two local rivals.
- On Sunday the 2nd, the first ever Hope Park Cup takes place. This is a 6 aside under 14 tournament which will feature some of the best young talent from across the country. Sunday's schedule is as follows;
- 12pm - 3.30pm
Hope Park Cup U14s Shinty Tournament (Pitch 1)
Come along to see some quality youth shinty action from clubs across Scotland in this inaugural U14s tournament.
- 4pm
Family-friendly Community Shinty (Pitch 1)
Family friendly event. Players of all ages and experience are welcome to join our community Shinty event with a focus on fun and participation.
All of this is taking place on the meadows between Melville Drive and Middle Meadows Walk. Please come along and support the event if you can.
