Oban shinty has lost one of it's shinty stalwarts recently when Donald Nicholson recently passed away. Donald was well regarded in the town and played with Oban Lorn, he was a fearless player and a good strong hitter of the ball. His grand-daughter Nicola won the best female player at the Macaulay junior 6 aside's in 2019.
