Respect in Shinty - Rory Kennedy

Rory Kennedy lifting the Tulloch Homes Camanachd Cup in 2017

Rory Kennedy, Captain of Newtonmore Shinty Club has been a cornerstone of his clubs success over recent years, winning many titles one of which was the Mowi (formerly Marine Harvest) Player of the Year in 2018  and today we find out more about his approach when it comes to respect in the game.

Rory made his debut for Newtonmore first team aged 16 and established himself in the defence winning the player of the year award when the team won the championship in 2010 when aged 18. He was the captain of the Scotland under 21 team in 2012 and is now a regular full Scotland International.

As a defender one of the most important attributes is the ability to compete. Rory is one of the toughest players to play against in shinty and he does this in the fairest possible way having not received a single booking in all of 2017 and 2018. See what Rory had to say about the importance of respect in shinty.
