Next up, to answer some questions in the lead up to this weekends International Shinty/Hurling Game is Lovat and Scotland's Stuart MacDonald.
What are your first memories of playing shinty?
First memories are back in Tomnacross Primary School playing 6 a side tournaments with players who are still my teammates now.
Who was your first role model when you were younger and why?
My first role model was probably my Uncle Ali MacRae. He was my only relation playing at the time and I was playing in goals behind him.
What does it mean to you to play for Scotland?
It’s certainly a big honour to play for your country, to be in the top 20 players in your sport is a good goal to reach.
What advice would you give to younger players who are maybe on the fringes of a senior team?
What I would say to younger players would be to listen to the advice you get from your senior teammates as much as you can and try to put what they say into practice on the training pitch and in games.
