Throw Up 20.18 is a project by the Highland Print Studio which creates a series of original prints that form a contemporary visual art archive that will be a lasting legacy for the 4 shinty clubs involved and for shinty as a whole.
Shinty is a cornerstone of Scottish culture and identity and the Highland Print Studio will be celebrating shinty’s unique connection to the everchanging cultural landscape of Scotland.
In short, 4 artists spent time engaging with a club and its wider community. They developed an in-depth understanding of the history of clubs and the tireless work of volunteers and fans to help Scotland’s most historic sport thrive. The four clubs that were involved were: Fort William, Beauly, Skye and Newtonmore.
There will be an exhibition showcasing the fantastic work of artists, Roddy Buchanan, John McNaught, Deirdre Nelson and Tom Smith at the Nevis Centre, Fort William in the run up to the Tulloch Homes Camanachd Cup Final.
